Baptism
Through the Sacrament of Baptism, your child is welcomed into the Catholic Church. It is the first step on their spiritual journey, and as parents you will be supported throughout the preparation by our experienced catechesis team. To request a Baptism please see the parish priest after Mass, or get in touch below.
Reconciliation (Confession)
This Sacrament is a wonderful opportunity to experience God’s mercy and start afresh. The Sacrament of Confession is available at 5:15pm before weekday Mass on a Wednesday, or by appointment.
Holy Communion
First Holy Communion
The receiving of Communion for the first time is a great milestone in a child’s faith journey. Children in Year 4 and above, are invited to make their First Holy Communion. Preparation for the sacrament may take place in school or by attending a series of meetings with parents/carers.
Holy Communion for sick and housebound
Eucharistic Ministers bring Holy Communion to those parishioners who are sick and housebound. If you know of any sick or housebound parishioners who wish to receive Holy Communion, please contact us.
Confirmation and RCIA
Confirmation strengthens the gifts of the Holy Spirit and shows a greater commitment to the Catholic faith. Adults and young people in Year 8 or above, are invited to join the Archdiocesan Confirmation Programme by registering online at: liverpoolcalled.co.uk Registration is usually open from Monday 15th January to 15th March. Once a year, there is a preparation course for those who want to become a Catholic, which is known as the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), a time of reflection, learning and prayer that leads to full reception into the Church. Please speak to the Parish Priest for more information.
Sacrament of the Sick
This sacrament brings strength, peace, and healing to those who are unwell or nearing the end of life. If you, or anyone you know would like to receive the Sacrament of the Sick, please contact us.
Marriage
To get married at St Joseph’s, please speak to the parish priest after Mass, or get in touch below. Those who do not reside in the parish should obtain permission from their own parish priest to be married at St Joseph’s.
